Of course, it was also out for PC at the same time, but now it’s making the jump to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 and Switch versions of Void Bastards will have the Bang Tydy DLC available at launch, but it won’t be packed in. The game launched in May of last year, as an Xbox One console exclusive, launching straight into Xbox Game Pass via Microsoft’s programme. You’ll encounter plenty of nasties on the way, with each death sending your right back to the beginning as your ship AI thaws off a fresh prisoner with distinct perks and abilities to use. Void Bastards is a revolutionary new strategy-shooter that will test your wits as well as exercise your aim.More details here. There’s plenty of inventive weaponry to use, like a cat bomb, and a comic book cel shaded art style that features ‘Kapow’ and ‘Kaboom’ words for explosions, but while there’s plenty of action to be had, you might want to take a more cautious approach. Set in the Sargasso Nebula, you’re trying to guide you prison ship to safety, docking with derelict ships and trying to scavenge the resources needed to keep progressing. Developed by Blue Manchu, the game is heavily inspired by the likes of BioShock and System Shock 2, but views them through the lens of a roguelite game structure.
